The Power of PPC Search Engine Internet Marketing
A significant number of high quality website traffic can be a direct result of utilizing a PPC search engine internet marketing campaign. PPC stands for “pay per click” and is a form of advertising that many people utilize in their online marketing and promotional needs. Quite possibly the greatest advantage of using PPC search engine Internet marketing is that you are only required to pay for visitors that actually click through to your website and not for people who simply look at your ad.
Here’s why it’s so powerful.
You are charged a set fee for ad exposure with most traditional methods of advertising. The people that view your ad may never even acting on your ad either. As a result, you may not make any money from your ad campaign. However, you still have to pay that fee, regardless of whether anyone responds to your ad or not. With pay per click marketing however, you increase the changes of generating a profitable campaign because you are only paying for people that actually respond to your ad by clicking on it. This is why you have great opportunity for drastically increased sales since your traffic will be very high quality and targeted.
The most effective form of pay per click marketing is through pay per click search engine marketing. Different web sites are shown in the search engine results every time a user searches for a new phrase. Along with the search results, several “sponsored results” will appear as well, usually on the right side of the screen. These sponsored results are examples of pay per click advertising. If the user clicks on one of the ads, the advertiser is charged a set fee. The fee greatly varies depending on the budget that advertisers set for their chosen keyword or phrase.
Some keywords cost very little to receive traffic (10 cents a click or less). Other keywords can cost an arm and a leg so to speak. There are keywords that go for as high as $25 a click. The price you pay for keywords is completely dependent upon what other advertisers are willing to pay for a keyword at a given point of time. Therefore, when considering any pay per click program, you want to consider what the average cost per click are for the top placements for your keywords and phrases.
In addition to search engine pay per click, there are also pay per click banners and pay per click web page placements. Similar to PPC search engine marketing, advertisers are only required to pay for prospects who actually click on their ad. These types of PPC results are not as high quality and targeted as using pay per click programs through search engines. A prospect is in a different state of mind when he or she types in a search word or phrase and clicks on an ad, versus visiting a web site and clicking on an ad or banner. All can work as long as you can make more money than you spend on the ad. Just understand that all pay per click marketing is not the same.

Starting an Online Home Business : My Personal Journey
Now that I have started my own online home buiness and joined a program with excellent training and have my own domain, it is no problem now for me to save the banner to my hard drive, upload it to my hosting control panel, create the code and add the banner to my site!!! This may sound so simple to some, but for newbies to the net, who are over 50 and were not brought up with a mouse in one hand and a cell phone in the other, this is quite an achievement!
I guess the message here today is that it is never too late to start an online home business and learn if the desire to succeed is there. I have learnt more in the last 3 months than I have in the 4 years that I have been working on the net. But it is important to find an online home business program that will provide you with excellent training, ongoing support and a forum where you can ask anything without feeling ashamed and receive advice from the top gurus in internet marketing who are prepared to share their knowledge and expertise in order to help others succeed.
Within 3 months of starting the training I have optimized my site myself and am enjoying top positions on Google, Yahoo and MSN (and other search engines) with some of my keywords. I have learnt some basic html and manage to make changes to my site as and when I want to. This sometimes takes time, but I am learning daily as I go along and seeing the results of my efforts in increased hits to my site and sign-ups, resulting of course in me generating web income.
Targeted web site traffic is the lifeblood of any online home business and I have really had my eyes opened to the methods used by the top gurus. When I look back on how I used to try and generate traffic to my site, I sigh and realize why I could not generate enough traffic and sign-ups!
I have learnt the importance of one-way links, back-links, link exchanges and have a very user friendly linking program installed on my site. You soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites. A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic. Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results.
I have learnt to write articles as well! This may seem daunting to some, as it did to me initially, but when you are learning so much, seeing the results of your own efforts and your confidence begins to build, it is not so hard to put pen to paper! There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself. Be sure to include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your online home business. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.
Another interesting thing that I have managed to do is add Syndicated Content to my website, this was quite a challenge as I had to learn the difference between .php and .html pages, but with persistence and patience I now have continually updated Syndicated Content on my site which the search engines love!
Visitors to my site can subscribe to my really interesting and informative Online Home Business and Website Marketing Secrets Newsletter with Income Generating tips and tricks. I also use a top Auto-responder to take care of the subscribers and to ensure they receive all copies of the Newsletter and should they wish to unsubscribe they can do so with one click. The auto-responder was even set up for me with preloaded messages!
I have to mention that I have also learnt to set up my Blog and edit it as I please.
I have barely touched on all that I have learnt in the last few months and it truly is an exciting journey at the moment, knowing that each day I will become more knowledgeable and tech-savvy. I hope that, by relating my internet marketing training journey so far, I have been able to pass on some tips and give hope to those just starting an online home business.

The Strategy Behind the Firm – Search Engine Marketing Through the Eyes of a CEO
In the Beginning, there was the internet…
In 1997, the internet really began to take flight and with the invention of this information highway came the emergence of innovative business avenues. The internet became the primary means by which many companies marketed themselves. The Web meant more exposure on a global basis and it became the primary means for many companies to market themselves. But for many companies, success was not so easy and the biggest question was how to use this novel technology to grow an online business. From this new demand for online marketing sprouted the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) industry to tackle all the problems businesses faced by contributing their sites to billions like theirs on the Web. SEM got the little guy a voice and allowed companies to differentiate themselves from the pack.
What’s the problem with the search engine marketing industry?
Since Google’s famous IPO in 2004, everyone and their brother seems to have started an SEM firm. In fact, it has been such a lucrative industry that some large ad agencies are opening their own firms. Companies have shelled out millions to educate and train their employees on every aspect of optimization, pay per click, link building and internet marketing. Everyone is hungry and scrambling to get a piece of the million dollar pie.
The upside of this exponential growth is that search engine marketing is finally being accepted as a valuable marketing channel, but have the strategies and tactics used to build a successful and “white hat” adhering firm been sacrificed all in the name of money?
To delve into this question one first has to look at the basic structure of a good SEM campaign. There is so much research that goes into each campaign beginning with understanding the client’s company. Once an SEM firm knows how their client operates, they can create a unique campaign to decide whether to utilizing keyword selection, content creation and/or link building will convert visitors into customers and positively impact the ROI.
Unfortunately, some SEM firms lack the patience, knowledge or funding to correctly implement the fundamentals of a good campaign. To make up for their shortcomings in SEM expertise, some firms may throw out a presumptuous “guarantee” ensuring the number one spot in organic search for a website in order to seal the deal with clients. In SEM, however, there are no guarantees. Search engine algorithms change frequently, so the chances of one website dominating the number one spot for more than a few days can NEVER be guaranteed.
SEM firms cannot always be to blame, as software is also suspect. Software has undoubtedly eased the way most SEM firms approach construction of complex paid search campaigns, but some agencies aren’t looking at the data and making smart business decisions. Software cannot think strategically. In order to manage a successful paid search campaign, understanding the financial metrics of a client’s company and installing strategic business rules are crucial. It’s not enough to just do, firms must test and measure, then test and measure again. It’s important to think, analyze, test and strategize to ensure that the campaign is the best it can possibly be.
In “natural” or “organic” search, some SEM firms seem to lose sight of what they are really doing for their client. These firms will hide behind the complexity of SEO and keep clients in the dark, blaming the lack of results on “changes in the algorithms”.
Taking over accounts of clients who have previously been misguided by their former SEM firms is sometimes a depressing reality. It allows the new firm insight of what the former firm did incorrectly; whether it’s discovering that the wrong strategy had been employed or actual results were being construed, it’s embarrassing for “white hat” SEM firms to clean up the messes of malpractice.
So how can this all be remedied?
The key to having a successful SEM campaign means knowing basic terminology. Clients that are educated in good SEM practices can never be steered wrong.
There are three keys to optimizing a site properly to achieve top, natural search engine rankings – keyword selection, content development and link popularity.
Choosing good keywords comes from an SEM firm’s knowledge of what their client’s company does and wants to accomplish. Without this knowledge, choosing correct and targeted keywords proves difficult and could lead to a disastrous campaign. Take, for instance, a large site like AutoTrader.com with a Google PageRank of 7/10. They will be able to compete for the most competitive keyword phrases, such as ‘used car’ because their site is bigger with more content linking “used car” back to their site. However, for newer, smaller online businesses, targeting niche keyword phrases, like “Atlanta used car dealership” may prove more successful. Picking keywords that are most likely to convert into sales that have relevancy to the website are a vital part of a good campaign.
In natural search, content is king. To be found for 100 keywords, then write at least 100 pages of website content covering each target keyword phrase. This may mean bringing in a content writer to optimize each page so the target keywords and phrases will be found by Google and Yahoo; slapping on a page title and a META tag won’t do the trick.
Finally, link popularity is critical to top search engine rankings. A link from ‘site A’ to ‘site B’ is like a vote from ‘site A’ for ‘site B’. The more votes a site has from other sites, the higher it will rank in Google. The problem is, some SEO firms don’t do link building (or content development). They plug in some titles and tags and hope for the best without knowing what a great asset link building is for their clients. To achieve top search engine rankings, link building is incredibly useful.
The bottom line, to be successful in paid search and search engine optimization, start with the right strategy; before hiring a search engine marketing agency, do the homework. Ask a lot of questions and hold the SEM firm accountable for bottom line results. Remember that there are no guarantees in this business; there is only strategy, which if done right, will lead to great online successes.

what is the future of search engine marketing?
A lot of growth. As advertisers realise the potential returns on search marketing expect more and more to flood into the space, pushing prices and therefore revenues up.
Providers (Google and Yahoo, for example) are already responding with moves into other spaces such as Video, Click to call, pay per sale and so on. Hell Google has even put adwords ads on tv.
The amount spent on search marketing just keeps going up and up every year and I personally can’t see an end to it any time soon.
I still see certain keyword searches that don’t have any advertisers! The opportunity is still there all over the place.

What is the search engine market look like in Taiwan? In Honk Kong?
Can anyone give me recent data on the search engine market in either taiwan or honk kong? I have found data, but it’s all years old. I want to advertise in these markets, but want data on the current shares for the leading search engines like Yahoo and Google…
I randomly discovered an article that has much of the data both comparison as well as factual about the search engine market in China. It is very specific and recent with information documenting time spent searching google (30 seconds) for Chinese surfers versus 7.6 seconds for U.S. surfers. Here is the link: http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-in-china

Let’s download ‘Prison Break’ Episodes
Revolving around the storyline of two young brothers, ‘Prison Break’, the very popular American drama, has managed to get a huge fan base around the world. Series has got off air but its craze is around the corner. Hundreds of people turn to internet every hour to watch and download Prison Break.
It began with Lincoln Burrows, the younger brother to Michael Scofield, who was sentenced to death for the crime that he had never committed. Knowing that his brother was innocent, the elder brother, Michael Scofield sent himself behind the bars intentionally. He did so to help Lincoln escape away the prison. Various other regular and guest characters made appearances throughout the run of the show either to help the two brothers run off or to put stops to their escape plans. Series ran on FOX Network for four consecutive seasons.
This very popular and unique series has attracted not the fans only but also the internet marketers throughout the world. Thousands of websites are claiming to provide the complete episodes of Prison Break but only a few of those provide you the stuff with good quality and speed. Though it’s not a kid’s game to choose a worthy website among the several available, downloading of TV shows and movies is possible. You just need to be on the right track to accomplish the things efficiently.
You first tell me, how many times you turned to internet to download the episodes of Prison Break. If your reply is ‘several times, but I never succeeded or skipped the idea to download after observing the complexity of the task’, then the article is must read for you.
It’s an era of Internet Marketing. People hardly go to buy DVDs and all that stuff and instead go online to watch or download TV shows or movies etc. The best way to find a website to download Prison Break and other shows’ episodes is to go with Google, Yahoo or any other popular search engine. Enter the name of the series whose episodes you are interested to download or watch online. For example, in case of Prison Break, you should write download Prison Break or watch Prison Break online. Within seconds only, you would thousands of websites offering the same.
Among those websites, several would offer even free Prison Break TV show episodes. I’d never suggest going with such websites. What you should do is- avail the membership of a website and get access to their genuine services. Such kinda websites offer a very good quality and speed without any limits on per day downloads. Generally, two types of memberships are provided by the websites, lifetime membership and limited membership. Going with the lifetime membership gives access to download thousands of shows paying single time charges only. On the other hand, the limited membership gives access to download or watch TV shows during that time period only. After the time runs out, you lose the access.
Therefore, my suggestion is that go with the membership site. It’ll validate you to download Prison Break episodes and thousands of other popular American, Canadian and British TV shows.

How to Achieve a Success in Runet? Invest in Search Engine Marketing!
Many people say that search engines are the future of the business. If your company is not present on search engine ranking pages, most probably this will have a major influence on the profits, awareness and competitiveness. We search for business partners, suppliers and services in different ways and languages all over the world. These who are interested in the Eastern Europe market should have necessary pieces of information how to effectively reach through Internet their potential customers e.g. in Russia.
This article presents a summary of how the Russian (the fastest growing population of internauts all over the world according to comScore World Metrix, Jan 2007) look for information. It also explains the advantages of a good exposure in search engine listings in the Russian search engines.
Searching activity in the Russian Internet (known also as Runet) is concentrated in 4 major search engines. These are:
- Yandex.ru – with 48,4% of market share;
- Google – 28,6%;
- Rambler.ru – 15,9%;
- Mail.ru – 4,7%;
The other players (Yahoo, MSN, Aport, Meta Bot, Alta Vista and others) take the rest of the market, according to SpyLOG Feb / Mar 2007 stats – http://gs.spylog.ru/r/?reportId=7&categoryId=1.
Business promotes itself in Russia
As a result of intense development of Runet, not only the local SMBs spend money on PPC campaigns but also both international companies of the same size as well as big multinational businesses like General Motors, Nissan, Peugeot, Honda and Sony. In case of these companies, yearly advertising budget is between $1.5 mln – $3.5 mln with up to 50% of it being spent on search engine advertising in Yandex.ru.
Search Engine Marketing on the top
Due to the great interest among advertisers, 2006 expenses on search engine promotion in the Russian Internet grew by 150% comparing to year 2005 and reached $110 million. Thus, search engine advertising has beaten banner advertising (with $100 million spendings) first time ever. This should be a very important signal for all the companies which promote themselves online, that SEM activity (a mix of technology and words which allows to reach now more than 90% of internet users) is an optimum way of the promotion (Lenta.ru – http://lenta.ru/news/2007/02/12/advert/).
Optimum costs of promotion
The minimum price for a single click (CPC) in Yandex.ru varies from (depending on the industry) $0.50 (“stickers”) to $5.00 (“refridgerators”). In Begun.ru one can pay $4.00 (“cash terminals”), $5.70 (“sight correction”), $5.90 (“companies registration”) and even $6.20 for “company closure”. The highest prices ($9.99) are paid for targeted campaigns which take into account very precise parameters, geolocation and time restrictions. You can compare this to $1550 – $5000 prices of one week banner campaign on popular Russian portals (according to http://www.context.1ps.ru).
Investing money in paid listings should be then cheaper and undoubtedly more efficient. When talking about banners, one pays for impressions, not users’ interest measured by clicks and actions taken on the advertiser’s website. The opposite payment model is assigned to sponsored links – payment is made only for users interested in products and services who click and visit the website.
Competition among advertisers
The highest prices in Yandex.Direct (http://www.direct.yandex.ru) are related to B2B activity, where just one transaction (no matter if it is selling a drilling rig or Boeing) per year make a single click with CPC of $48.00 affordable. Apart from above-mentioned B2B examples, the most competitive areas of interest are flats’ sale in the modern block of flats, airplane rentals, Forex stock exchange and building industry services.
Why Yandex?
Coming back to the most important search engine in Russia… Yandex – not very well organized in late ‘90s, now is the leader of search engines in Runet. The company put an emphasis on contextual advertising and doubled its revenues last year, becoming even stronger player at the market. The management estimates that this year’ income from search-related advertising should be close to $100 million. At present, 25 million people use Yandex with 5 million of unique users every day. On the contrary, tens of thousands of companies conduct their promotional activity through this search engine. The constantly growing audience of Yandex makes more advertisers interested in both search engine optimization (being well exposed in organic listings) and PPC marketing (paid listings). They seem to make the right decision as the results come very quickly because of modern character of Yandex. Since 2005 it has had two advertising systems, comparable to Google AdWords and AdSense (according to Yandex official blog – http://company.yandex.ru/blog/).
Cheap listing better than expensive banner impression
Lew Glejzer, the director of AdWatsh advertising agency predicts that expenses on search engine marketing in 2007 will go over $200 million in total. All innovative companies that think about future take seriously into account paid listings – adds Dmitrij Wasiljew, Link.ru director. The banners are becoming more expensive and will probably be exclusively used by large companies while search engine marketing is affordable for SMBs as well.
“Key” keywords
In order to be completely successful one need to use precisely defined keywords – the ones which are both relevant to company business profile and are frequently used by people in queries made in search engines. The most popular queries between Dec 2006 and Feb 2007 were: papers (proceedings), desktop wallpapers, horoscope, postcards, weather, games, news, mp3, proverbs, dates, mobile phones, recipes, friendships, music, anecdotes, jobs, cars, predictions, sex, erotics, map of Moscow, chat, samsung d500, kamasutra, flats, photos, nokia, football, russian radio, lyrics, motorization, porno, pregnancy, Aeroflot (according to SpyLOG stats – http://gs.spylog.ru/r/?reportId=8&categoryId=1). Maybe this will be an inspiration for somebody when planning a PPC campaign on, let’s say, Yandex…
Who can see the advertisement?
Most of them are the Russian people – 44.4%, but the advertisement can be also presented to the Americans (14.5%), Ukrainians (4.7%) and Germans (3.5%) not to mention others. That is why search engine marketing in Russia gives the opportunities to reach people from different parts of the world. When talking about the Russian cities, there is one strong leader – the capital (Moscow) with 44% and other cities like Sankt-Petersburg (10.1%) or Jekaterynburg (2.6%), according to SpyLOG stats (http://gs.spylog.ru/rsu/?categoryId=1).
What are the benefits of search engine marketing?
Search engines are responsible for a significant traffic share on Russian websites. This is the result of good exposure in organic listings as well as paid listings activity conducted by Russian companies. The examples below present some traffic statistics on different sectors in the Runet in Nov 2006 (SpyLog stats http://gs.spylog.ru/tcu/5/preView/274.html).

Runet + SEM = SUCCESS
By spending money on search engine marketing in Runet one can create new opportunities, particularly in the commerce area. The advertising activity in Russian search engines gives the possibility for all companies focused on the international trade (both exporters and importers) to be present on this big market in order to make new business contacts, agreements and increase the revenues. As usually, the first ones will be the winners – that is why we strongly recommend taking into consideration SEM activity in Russia as it may bring significant profits for almost every company.

What is the difference between Search Engine Optimization and Pay per Click Search Engine Marketing?
Search Engine Optimization:
Is when the search engine looks through the websites that have more traffic related to the word/s that you entered. So selects first the ones that people go to the most… google works like that. for example if you search book in google the website on top would be facebook, because more people go to it when looking for a phrase with the word book.( this is totally free, websites don’t have to pay to be on top)
Pay per click:
is when a website pays a search engine for every click they get on their link, this way the search engine puts their website on top of the search list since it is more likely the person will click on it. Google also is an example of this, for example search "lawyer in miami" the first links will be lawyers who pay google for every click they get, so google puts them on top as they are more likely to get clicked there. ( but also google not only puts them there for their money but for the quality of their website too. that is what the rating is for)
hope this helps you.
