Can somebody tell me the different between web 2.0 (social network marketing) vs. Search Engine Optimization?
Marketing via social networking sites can generate a large amount of traffic in a short amount of time. This revolves around you writing articles for your website. Those articles are then either submitted by you, or someone else who had read it to there social networking site. Some social sites work better then others depending on what it is you are writing about. You repeat this process over and over again with writing good articles and having them submitted. You also want to try and build up a profile on your favorite social networking site. This adds great credibility to not only your article but as to the comments you leave. The more you submit good content, leave great comments the more you will be known on that site. By having a power profile, you have gained the readers respect by posting great things and those people will visit your site more often to read what else you have written. Now if you have a website and it never changes, you are never adding new content to it, then social network marketing will not do that well for you in my opinion.
With SEO you are tailoring your website around not only your readers, but to the keyword(s) you are trying to rank for. You are trying to build up your backlinks either by directory submissions, having a great write-up that others link back to or even buying links on other sites. Even with SEO it is a good idea to add new content to your site, have content written about your industry. This gives you more to work with and a better chance at attracting other people’s attention to link to what you have written about. There is a lot more to SEO then most think, the to do list can be quite long for most. I believe that writing good articles and posting them on your site should be a part of SEO. This will give you more content for the search engines to spider through and gives you a better chance at getting more backlinks from reader who liked what you wrote.
In a nutshell social network marketing revolves around how much you interact on a socail networking site (digg, reddit, etc.) to build up your profile with the rest of the readers. Once you have done this (takes a good amount of time and dedication) you will see a lot more traffic to your site on a daily basis. Writing a great article will drive traffic to your site for a few days if it hits the front page, but you will not make the front page every day. By having a power profile you will gain readers who will visit your site everyday to see what else you have discussed. This is the essence of social marketing, you are not only marketing your articles, but your profile as well. Many companies use these social networking sites to help there clients establish more backlinks to there site. As we all know backlinks are a big factor in your rankings, the more the better.

Search Engine Optimization and Its Role in Search Engine Marketing
Internet marketing has rapidly grown over the years. Businesses big and small are trying to reap the benefits that an online presence offers. And an online presence for an existing business, regardless of what it may be, does often mean increased return on investment. And given increasing competition, with everyone having logged on, in a manner of speaking, just having a website is not enough.
Also known as e-commerce, internet marketing covers everything from information management to sales. Specialized areas such as public relations and customer service and many others have also joined into this complex world. Along with the common business models (business-to-business and business-to-consumer) a third peer-to-peer has manifested in the internet marketing arena where individuals exchange goods with each other.
The growth of internet marketing gave rise to search engine marketing. SEM aims at improving the visibility of a website on the results pages of major search engines. There are three main methods of carrying out SEM,
a) search engine optimization (SEO)
b) pay per click
c) paid inclusion.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) fine tunes the content and structure of a website to achieve the closest possible match to what visitors on search engines are looking for. Also known as Search Engine Advertising, Pay Per Click advertising, is the method wherein advertisers bid on “keywords” that they are sure their target user will type into the search bar. These “sponsored ads”, as they are called, appear above the search results and an advertiser pays when the user clicks on the ad. The third method of SEM, Paid Inclusion, is rather straightforward as suggested by the name. Website owners pay search engines, typically an annual fee, in order to be listed on their search pages.
Clearly PPC and Paid Inclusion seem like the fastest methods of search engine marketing. Yet, many website owners prefer to adopt the more time consuming Search Engine Optimization method for better marketing of their website on search engines.
The name SEO is misleading because the idea is in fact to optimize the web page to attract visitors on leading search engines. Search engines work on the basis of specific algorithms, and the idea behind SEO is to keep keywords on websites in sync with these algorithms.
Once again, as your SEO service provider will tell you, the focus is not on a precise understanding of the algorithms. Here it becomes important to know your target audience, preempt the keywords they will type, and to make sure your website is laden with these keywords. The idea was to emphasis on keyword density. Keyword density, as the name suggests, is quite simply how often a predefined set of keywords is repeated on a web site. Over the years, unethical practices such as keyword stuffing has made search engines like Google wary of giving important to keyword density. Given this scenario website owners are now advised to write content meant for visitors, rather than “stuff” their website with keywords just to attract high ranking. Yet another common unethical practice is the insertion of highly searched keywords that have nothing whatsoever to do with the content on the page. This again may temporarily attract high ranking, but is bound to end with the site being caught and banned.
Affecting the keyword density and/or content rewriting is just one part of the SEO process. In order to make websites more search engine friendly navigation patterns of a website are also modified. The sole purpose of having a navigation system is for the site to be more user-friendly. Unfortunately in an attempt at being unique, web site owners and designers get carried away and end up devising complex navigation systems. Yet another element that may be changed during the SEO process is the internal link structure of a website. Website owners in their bid to have higher rankings on search engine result pages obtain a long list of irrelevant links to their sites. Modern day search engines are equipped to identify such sites, and would mostly ban them.
It is always advisable to adopt SEO starting with the initial development and design stage of a website. In other words rather than using SEO as an afterthought, it needs to be thought of as a stage in the lifecycle of website creation. This would assure a good beginning in the ranking of the results pages of various search engines. And once this groundwork is done, improving the rankings would become a less challenging task.
Global companies are now looking at partnering with Indian firms that offer SEO services. There are many Indian companies in the field that offer high-quality, cost-effective SEO services. Working with these firms you can monitor the progress made on projects, and be assured of dedicated work towards meeting desired goals.

1,000 MLM Leads/day Challenge (Jim’s Coffee Adventures)
http://www.JimYaghi.com
Hey guys and girls it’s jim yaghi here!
Welcome to the first of my Coffee Adventures video series. I’ve been thinking about starting a video diary for a while and i procrastinated on it long enough. With 2009 round the corner, it’s my goal to keep regular entries throughout the year. So let’s see how this pans out!
Jim’s Coffee adventures is just something i thought of because i love spending time in coffee shops around the world. Not that i like the taste of coffee…i have to put like 4 tablespoons of sugar and chocolate and vanilla and cinnamon just to make it bearable. But this all started back in Sydney when i was a poor broke student. I was hanging out at coffee shops so i could meet new people to network with–and it was there i learned to become an alpha recruiter.
This is my first adventure and it’s a tough one.
You might already know this about me–i’m obsessed with Paid search engine marketing particularly pay per click with Google Adwords and Yahoo. And since July, I’ve managed to pull a steady 150 leads almost EVERY day for my primary business.
Now I’ve got a few projects in the works with a friend of mine and we realised that for it to work, i’m gonna need to step up my lead generation to 1,000 leads per day some how.
I’d love to tell you that it’s just a matter of throwing more money on ads or something like that but it’s not. The only reason i’m not generating 1000 leads a day already is that i’ve hit an obstacle.
Somebody suggested that i’ve pretty much tapped out all the traffic there is to be had on Pay Per Click.
I think i’ve barely scratched the surface.
How do i know?
Well, here’s what i think:
I am friends with 3 major MLM players who generate home business opportunity leads with pay per click. Each of them gets approximately 100 or so daily leads. So between me and them we’re generating at least 450 leads daily. And that’s just the people i know!
So I’m pretty sure that there’s at least that meany leads a day out there…waiting for me in pay per click. And i can have them as soon as i overcome this obstacle!
I’ll fill you in on what that is in a second, but first…here’s where you come in.
Over the next few weeks and maybe months, i’m going to keep you posted about everything i tried, what worked and what didn’t. This way, you can pull some nuggets to use in your own marketing. And hey, if you follow along with me, by the time this adventure is done, you could be generating hundreds of leads for your own business using Pay Per Click marketing.
So if you like, click in this video to view it in youtube, then post a reply video and tell me what you’ve been trying, what’s working, and what’s not. Feel free to use screen shots, props, skits, and friends to demonstrate with. It’s up to you–or just watch silently!
Whenever i face a challenge with pay per click, i divide it into 3 phases. they are 1) Impressions, 2) clicks, and 3) conversions. Because that’s pretty much all there is to creating a profitable campaign in pay per click. And they have to be in this order to make sense–i mean, no point working on writing a perfect ad that gets a high click rate if i’m not getting impressions to begin with for example.
That’s why my first challenge is to generate impressions for my ads. I dont care if they get clicked or if they sell or make money–i just need many many many people from the right audience to see my ads.
What better way to do that than by finding new and related keywords to trigger the ads?
Easier said than done. This is my obstacle. Since July, I have tried and I can’t seem to find appropriate keywords not already in my campaign. They’re always either infrequently searched or not what i would consider relevant. Now, I’m about to change that!
Stay tuned to hear the rest of the plan!

Is Search Engine Marketing Important?
In this age of computers and Internet, many businesses have realized that Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is an absolute necessity to stay and grow in business. But the biggest puzzling aspect is with millions of businesses having Internet presence, how to draw traffic to your web site.
The success of SEM lies in moving your website from a listing that is somewhere in the first 10 search results to the first page of a search engine’s result so that it will be noticed by your target audience. Apart from obtaining a high ranking in the search engines, there are few other factors that will have to be considered for your SEM efforts to succeed.
You must target your potential customers and not attract thousands of unproductive visitors to your site. The web content must be informative and appealing to get your message across to the intending buyers. According to recent survey, an average visitor will spend only 10-18 seconds searching your web page for what they need. Within those fleeting moments, you must create the necessary impact and make him stay longer.
Let us understand what is SEM. SEM basically involves two processes. Getting a customer to your site is the first part of any successful SEM. Retaining your customers and increasing your lead-to-sales ratio is the crucial second step. For your online business to be a success today you need to offer your customers something of value. Prospective clients are quite knowledgeable and have a wealth of information at their fingertips. Offer your visitors what they expect to see at your website. Provide them comprehensive information about your products or services. Explain industry terms and give your visitors the information they need to make an informed decision.
If you fail to offer your customers pertinent information, your visitors will simply move to the next site that does and the loss is yours. The Internet has given potential customers access to a wealth of information and they are no longer required to visit your store and seek information from your salespeople. This is why SEM has assumed a lot of importance.
The primary concern of the search engine marketing is to optimize your website and to evaluate the number and quality of traffic that the site is able to attract. The essential factor in your search engine marketing activity should be the optimization of the search engine pages. To achieve this, the right set of keywords and proper link building have are necessary. These are necessary in SEM to advance the ranking of the search engines.
When evolving search engine marketing strategy you should do a competitive analysis. Before you check and work on your position in the search engine, find out how your competitors are placed in search engine results. Learn how ahead they are in their rankings and try to study their website including, keywords, site content and marketing processes. Next you can move ahead to check your list of keywords. See if you have been able to target all the keywords and the possible key phrases that could be optimized for your website.

What is search engine optimization and marketing?
"Search Engine Optimization" is the process of attempting to make a website come up for keywords within a search engines "free" listings. This entail changes to the pages and structure of a site, as well as creating links that point to the site.
Many people believe that "Search Engine Marketing" refers to the paid listings on a search engine, such as Google AdWords.
I (and others) see "Search Engine Marketing" as referring to working with both types of listings, free and paid.

How to Make Money Online With Ease
I assume that you are one of those people who want to make a lot of money without ever having to put on a suit and tie and going to the office. I, too, have dreamt of financial independence for some time and managed to achieve it by becoming a successful online marketer.
The most important thing that you need to know about affiliate marketing is: “content rules”. It’s the first thing you need to keep in mind at all times. If you really want to be successful in this trade then you need to learn how to make your own content and how to come up with quality stuff. The next one is to gain links that point to your site, which will bounce you up in search engine ratings. Make sure the links are always from web pages that focus on the same topic as the articles they point to, otherwise you are going to lose points with the search engines and that should be avoided at all costs.
Sounds too simple? Well, it sort of is simple, but not as simple as you’d expect. What you need to do is to write good articles that can really answer the questions your readers have in mind. This means finding a topic, becoming thoroughly acquainted with it and analyzing possible solutions.
So go ahead, pick a niche market, identify some topics and start writing. Get about 10 to 15 articles up on your website, get links for every one of them and then keep an eye out and see if people like them or not. Re-read one of the articles and see if your writing style is really clear and if the ideas stand out from the text and are easy to grasp by anyone.
After weeks of doing this re-read your first articles once more. I am perfectly sure that you will be surprised of how poorly written they seem. Feel free to re-write them, or to write new ones that focus on the same topics and solutions, but with a different approach and wording. Don’t strive to be 100% original every time because this is impossible.
Marketing campaigns, flashing banners and slick ads are nice, but you don’t need them. Just write articles and get links. Then write more articles and get more links. Repeat this until your website becomes a mandatory stop for people who want to be well-informed on the topic you’ve chosen. The links and surfer clicks will give you good ratings and the original content will make you unique.
These are just a couple of the internet affiliate marketing fundamentals covered in the MakingYouRicher online marketing program. For a fully scaleable and realistic strategy to making money online, visit http://www.makingyouricher.com . Write good articles, put in plenty of keywords but don’t use them blatantly. Make sure the links to the merchant website stand out and get other websites to link to you. That’s all you need to know to make a lot of money on the internet.
